I moved away a little over three years ago to move in with my partner, which essentially outed me to my whole family, and this is the one and only time that this relative has reached out to me since I moved. When I’m doing my peaceful morning routine and trying not to stress out about the real world. Thanks 🙃

He arrived, rolled down the window and took straight off. I was just trying to get home from working at my haunted house lol.. best part is, his name was IMRAN. He literally ran. I guess he lives up to his name. Also, Halloween is in 2 days as I'm posting this so I didn't think this would be so out of the ordinary. My last uber driver wanted a selfie with me, but this guy just straight up ran away.

I couldn't even explain why I look like this because before I could explain he cancelled my ride and the messages vanished lol.

Also for anyone wondering why I didn't take it off before getting in the car, im always exhausted and dirty after the shift so my goal is to get straight to my home asap. that's why I take it all off when I get home.

Just spent about two hours (mostly distracted by gladiator playing in the background) assembling my kid's new toy chest monstrosity that holds books, stuffies, loose knickknacks in bins, and even comes with a white board and supplied magnets in the box.

I was throwing them on the board, noticed a color pattern with the letters... Except the pattern is broken on o and p.

I'm PO'd

So, first of all, they don't celebrate Halloween on Oct 31 here if that falls on a weekend, so Trick or Treat was on Thursday Oct 29. That's sacrilege #1. Second, kids apparently don't knock on fucking doors anymore and I was expected to be STANDING OUTSIDE TO HAND OUT CANDY. No. Third, I had decorations up, the porch light on, and the door open... and kids just walked past my house... BECAUSE I WASN'T OUTSIDE. Fourth, they started at like 5 PM and were done by 6:30 PM, because apparently... dark is scary...? IS THAT NOT THE POINT OF HALLOWEEN?

Just.. why would you think this was a good idea.

It's not even halloween it's October 29th.

A train as a breakdown in front of us so we are stopping until repatriation finish at 30 minutes of my city and everyone were able to get close one or taxi taking them and now I'm just living alone in the train :)

I work at a shoe store Had a lady come up to my counter recently with a ton of shoes. and as I was checking her shoes making sure they were all the right sizes and in the right boxes she rambled on about her kids Halloween costumes. and how she was getting shoes for them for a good 2 minutes

I mentioned my Halloween plan of staying at home and watching scary movies all night she cut me off and goes”can you just check the shoes please?”

This bitch really hit me with the shoe store equivalent of just put the fries in the bag after I acknowledged that I too existed outside of that store.

Manager pulled me aside at the end of the night and told me”I don’t need to discuss my personal life with customers because someone complained”

We used to have nice cubicles with attached desks, plenty of storage, 6 foot tall walls, and comfy sturdy office chairs. I've waited two weeks. A guy in another office said it was done so I went in to see this. They ripped out all the flooring and sanded down the concrete. Painted the walls grey. And the entirety of our office furniture looks like a handful of middle school cafeteria tables and flimsy "ergonomic" chairs. Most of the chairs are made of cheap plastic and webbing. They took out the wall outlets and put up the ones you see between the tables. I understand minimalist design as well as open floor designs but this is just sad. By the way this is an office for 3rd party companies on a site owned and operated by a company you have definitely heard of. There are 4 different companies in this office who don't need to interact with each other, making the open concept a hindrance rather than a benefit.

It used to look like an office, now it looks like some guy decided to have a used tech flea market in his freshly painted garage.

Edit: Thank y'all so much for validating my disgust for these "upgrades". This is the most attention a post of mine has ever received and as someone notorious for texting someone back weeks later I must admit I'm a bit overwhelmed, lol.

To answer a few questions, I will say that the crew that did the work did a good job, good quality work. But whoever came up with the plan needs to never design or plan anything ever again. The electrical outlet was professionally installed and would be fine in a different setting. Not an office. Yes, the trash can in the back is a locked shred bin and wasn't so noticeable when we had cubicle walls. Minimalist can be fine, open concept plans can work in the right environment, but this is how bad combining the two can get. Even told my dad that if it was any more minimalist it would be just a plank set on cinder blocks. I do have a laptop and some other items not pictured, but I won't be bringing those in until i have something i can lock them up in as they broke my tiny filing cabinet while moving it. Also, I had brought in a chair from home, I taped a sign on it saying it was personal property and do not throw away. The sign made it back, the chair didn't. I got that chair for free so im not out anything but it's still frustrating.

I never realized it must be so common for review responses to be complete lies to try to make the person leaving a review seem crazy, when in reality, it's a blatant lie from the business owner.

Edit: I deleted the review because I didn't want this to keep escalating, and I didn't expect anyone to find the business. I don't recommend that you harass them or leave reviews if you've never been there, as per Google's TOS for leaving reviews. I just wanted to share my experience and how surprised I was that an owner would respond with a flat-out lie.

Pen pierced my bag and drew squiggles on my pants as I walked through the city. Did not realise until I jumped on the train :( .

EDIT: For people wondering how it happened, bag was on my forearm / elbow, as I was using my phone at the same time. I couldn't feel anything aside from the bag brushing against my leg.

After an initial call, they sent me a Teams meeting invite to get to know me more. Within that same email, there were requests for my resume (that’s normal) and a survey to fill out. Within the survey, two references were required. Sent the email back to the recruiter…

Me: “I apologize, but I don’t give out references until I’m being seriously considered for a position. If this voids our Teams meeting, that’s completely understandable.”

A few hrs later, recruiter calls…

Recruiter: “Heyyyy gotchaaaa. We just need it this one time for our records. It’s not like we’re gonna reach out to them now and let your current employer know you’re leaving them. We just want to be ready when we present your profile to our clients (insert more unreasonable rambling here).”

I explained even further that I pride on what my references will have to say about me. I respect them by not giving away their info willy nilly.

Recruiter decided they can no longer help me because of my decision and cancelled the Teams meeting.

I was rather unsurprised with how that phone call turned out. The trash took itself out, I must say.

Surely they could've found a better option than to use MY books and MY kpop albums which I spent MY money on. If that gets crushed that's hundreds of dollars gone. I myself would never subject any belonging that I care about to this state
