Something really strange has happened to me last night( tbh its not first time) and I'm curious if anyone has experienced anything similar.

Around midnight, I saw a small, goblin-like creature, somewhat resembling Master Yoda, seemingly floating or gliding across my phone screen like a sticker or animated image. It remained visible for a few seconds before disappearing.

What's even stranger is that something very similar happened on an older phone about four years ago. I've changed phones twice since then. It didn't happen on the phone I used in between, but it has now happened again on my current phone. It also appeared multiple times on the same phone.

I haven't intentionally installed or used any prank apps or animations.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? Could it be some kind of Android overlay, software glitch, adware, or something else? Has anyone experienced anything similar?

I don't need it and want to use the flash drive normally.

I´ve just passed the worst i think. I was installing a game through a setup installer from a dubious page called repackland . com

Something was feeling fishy, so i stopped it while it was finishing. But i knew something was wrong, the fans on my computer started spinning like crazy for a moment and then I started cleaning mode. Using my free version of the 360 Total Security I performed a general check and indeed it detected that a trojan was in ProgramData autoreplicating as well. It quarantined it and now it says that it failled to handle it (seems like I cannot add the screenshot of the message).

I usually dont use windows defender but I have turned it on to run a full check as I write this. Seems like It has also found something and just removed it. But I´m scared about rebooting (as the 360 Total Security suggests to handle the virus) since It could also be a ransomware of some sort or catch when I put my password back.

Any advice on what could I do to make this as safe as possible?

okay im not a redditer so im not sure how to structure this post, but ive been trying to solve this issue for 2 months now and nothing is working. there two problems actually but i have reason to believe theyre connected.

i cant type capital T on my pc at all. the shift key works just fine i cant type any other capital letter and the T key works fine too i cant type it as much as i want. but i cant type a capital T. ive managed to somehow fix the problem twice but it keeps coming back and i dont even know what i did to fix it, it feels completely random. both times i was ending random tasks in task manager and then trying to type T in the notes app and the first time it was after i ended windows moguls installer, but this time it was the nvidia app. i have no idea how these would be connected at all.

and at the same time my pc startup password input is bugged. anytime i cant type T the "input pin" button doesnt work and no matter how many times i press it the box for the pin doesnt get pulled up. i just have to wait til my computer decides im allowed in input my password. i have reason to believe these are connected because when im able to somehow fix the T problem and i restart my computer the pin box problem also goes away. im not tech savvy so i have no idea how this works.

I have an Asus Vivobook 14X OLED, and its battery lasts only around 2 hours or less. Is it safe to keep my laptop plugged in while using it, even when it reaches 100%, or should I unplug the charger and reconnect it when the battery gets low?

Also, should I shut down or close my laptop while charging, or is it fine to keep using it? I want to avoid damaging the battery or laptop. Thanks!

I have two sticks of RAM both were working correctly and were plugged in correctly. After some time one of the sticks started failing memorytest86 tests, so I unplugged it and left it somewhere in a drawer. I've done the same tests for the other working stick, plugging it in every slot and it passed the tests. after a month i plugged it back in and it passed all the tests as it magically reanimated, but after sometime it again started to fail. Unplugged it left it on the open for another month and plugged it back in, again it came back working. Any idea how and what might cause such an issue ?

I tried turning off the router and rebooting. I tried doing the change in dns for ipv4 and the cloudflare one worked for like a second and then it just didnt no matter what ?? I tried turning on ipv6 and also nothing.

Also, YouTube opens on my phone but videos dont load, i can only scroll the home feed and stuff like that.

My father recently gave me our old LG TV (Model is 32CS460-TA) since no one in my family uses it much anymore, I tried connecting my laptop to it using a HDMI cable (Dell precision 7510) the HDMI button is highlighted when i click on "source" on my TV remote while the TV is detected on my Laptop when I click on Display settings, but the TV doesn't display anything and when I click Windows + P on my laptop it says there's no Secondary display detected despite it being detected on the display settings, whats the problem?

2 faint overlayed white boxes are on my main monitor mainly visible from lines on task bar and white vignette border on left side of screen, tried to google but found no relevant help.

My laptop Acer Aspire A16-61M (BIOS version V1.09) with Windows 11 randomly turned off and now throws me into "No bootable devices found" screen every time I try to turn it on. I tried turning it on and off couple of times and it didn't work. Now I'm trying to change the Boot Mode from UEFI to Legacy, but it won't let me. The option is grey no matter what I do. Turning off Secure Boot didn't work, setting up the Supervisor/User/Boot passwords like some recommended didn't either. I have no USBs connected to the laptop, although I had my mousepad connected when it happened like usually. So now I'm stuck and don't know what to do. I bought this laptop not even a month ago, help!

Hi! Last night my cousin accidentally dropped beer on my PC tower. It was mainly on top of the front ports (where it remained for around 10 seconds) but it seems a small amount ended up inside as well.

This is my first PC and I wasnt sure what to do. I know now it was a bad move but I started it for 1 minute to make sure it was still working. It seemed alright but I didnt take any chances and unplugged everything.

I tried reading some older reddit posts and videos. Got some 99% isopropyl alcohol with a little cloth to clean glasses (no idea if that is lint free). I cleaned where the alcohol was inside. However I have no idea if some of it went inside the GPU and I have no idea how to clean the front ports. Was wondering what my next steps should be.

How do I open the ports and try cleaning there?

Should I bring it to a computer cleaning service and hope?

Can it even me repaired/cleaned or should I get a new chassis and reinstall everything?

If the drop of beer that fell in only touched the bottom of the chassis, is my PC still usable as long as I clean the ports??

I am very confused and honestly very stressed about it all so any guidance would be very appreciated.

Is anyone else having issues with shared mailboxes in Outlook Classic?

Whenever I send an email from a shared mailbox, it doesn't show up in the shared mailbox's Sent Items folder. Instead, it ends up in personal mailbox's Sent Items folder.

I've even opened a support ticket with Microsoft, but they haven't been able to fix it yet.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Has anyone found a way to fix it?

This is a bit of a weird problem, but for the past couple of weeks, all my Google Search results have been really messed up whenever I'm using incognito mode, and obvious results aren't displayed. When I searched for "wikipedia amharic", as an example, my top three results were a a wiktionary page, the Romanian Wikipedia page for Amharic (I'm located in the UK), and a Facebook post. My search results are normal whenever I'm not using incognito mode, or if I'm using a different search engine in incognito mode. Google also keeps asking me to complete captchas, notifying me that there's "Unusual traffic from your computer network" every 30 minutes or so.

I've looked at the Google support page, and they've indicated malware, my network, extensions, or VPNs might be the problem. It's almost certainly not extensions, as disabling them did not resolve the problem; malware's a possibility, but I'd be somewhat surprised, as I'm hyper-vigilant about avoiding it and scan my computer frequently, and haven't seen cause to worry; and I do occasionally use a VPN, but more often than not I have it turned off. Everything's functioning normally when I'm not using incognito mode, but the messed up Google search has rendered it borderline unusable, and I'd like to know what's behind it.

For a good while I have been having daily disconnections while playing a game online. I've ignored it for quite a bit because it hasn't really been impactful but with the release of new team based content I've been watching frequently from the dead PoV simply because it happened tod/c at a really inopportune time.

A couple pieces of information I can give is:

- It's not the game servers as my friends don't notice anything and game on as normal, as well as discord briefly goes quiet so I lose connection there too.

I can glance over to my modem and see that no red lights are flashing indicating a problem when the disconnects occur.

But it doesn't seem like *full* d/c somehow as the game seems to still register all my inputs because I can sometimes live simply by randomly moving around and spamming healing.

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy A13 5G. It is charged to 100%. Whenever I plug in the phone it shows the indicator that my phone is at 100%. I tried hard resetting my phone, doesn't work. I had a problem like this a couple days ago where it was already switched on, but wouldn't turn on unless I plugged it into a charger. I am unable to get notifications since my phone is on DND 24/7.

Today I booted up my computer, and after looking away for a moment shortly after it booted to Windows, the monitor suddently stopped receiving any signal. Seeing as I couldn't really do anything to restart it normally, I decided to shut it down from the power button. Once I powered it on again, the computer wouldn't even boot to BIOS, and my motherboard wouldn't beep once like it normally would. The computer was powered on, but that's it. I tried doing the usual things like unpluging my power supply and holding down the power button for a minute, removing the motherboard battery and putting it in again after around 10 minutes, reslotting the RAM sticks, trying to boot with each RAM stick individually and in different slots, checking for loose cable connections, but none of that seemed to work. Throughout my troubleshooting I noticed that the CPU cooler was spinning in an unusual patter, where it would spin for around 5 seconds, then stop, then spin again for 2 seconds, and stop, and so on. I did not see the same behavior from my case fan or my power supply fan though. I asked AI and it said that my power supply is the most likely suspect here, seeing as it is around 10 years old already, but I'd like to have some input from other people as well. Another thing that might be of use to know is that my CPU does not have integrated graphics, so that could mean that my GPU could be at fault here as well, especially since I noticed that its fan was not spinning at all, but I am not that knowledgeable on the matter to make a proper assumption. I have no other power supply around to test if it is really the problem or not, and I cannot afford a new one at the moment. I am also afraid to try to boot up my computer again because I don't want a faulty power supply to break my other components somehow.

What do you people think could be the problem here?

I have got a Lenovo X1 Yoga Generation 2 and it is not charging, but before this happened sometimes if I flipped the cable around or plugged it into the thunderbolt port it would work. I even tried hard resetting it via the little pinhole at the bottom of the laptop using a paperclip. That did not work. Do you guys think there is any way to fix it or do you think that it just isn't worth it with a laptop this old.

I bought an open box pre-built Lenovo Legion 5 from Bestbuy that only has a 15 day return window. I obviously want to make sure everything is GTG before that’s over, but I also don’t want to spend too much time being overly thorough.

I checked all the hardware on HWinfo and CPU-Z and everything seems to check out. Haven’t had time to game or run a benchmark or game or anything.

Questions:

1. If I do a benchmark (3dmark), should I also do stress tests for GPU/CPU? Or is it redundant.

2. I did a Windows memory diagnostic which found no errors. Is it also worth running TESTMEM5? I have no clue how it works.

3. Is there anything else worth testing?

hey, so I’ve recently moved to a new place for work (roughly 500mile drive) and before the move everything on my gaming PC was working perfectly fine. Then after having a few issues working out good WiFi (I’m using a smart hub router with a data sim) now the only problem I have is none of the games are opening. every game white screens and crashes on open and I need to restart my computer just to be able to try again. all except helldivers 2 which is working perfectly to fine, I’ve tried some trouble shooting but there doesnt seem to be a problem on software side and I don’t k is too much about hardware to go digging inside my computer.

I’d really appreciate some ideas on how I could fix the problem. thanks

I've recently had a window installation and the workers were using drills on wood and concrete. They also knocked over pesticide powder near the windows. My Console is at the back of the room and I covered it thoroughly with Bin bags and bedsheets (We didn't have any dust sheets available). Anyway I mopped and vaccumed the floors and waited at least 20 minutes before gently removing the bin bags and bedsheets. I'm nervous to turn it on as I've heard horror stories of dust short circuiting the components and abrasion on the fan.

Any advice etc would be much appreciated.

Hello everyone, first post. Did this in WindowsHelp, but I feel like TechSupport is the right subreddit to ask. So I was just about to play my usual game, do chkdsk, when all of a sudden it made me do a lot of things, which also prevented me from booting:

1. BitLocker (thanks to my uncle, I got the recovery key and my C: drive is saved.)

2. Windows possibly trying to not make me login by saying "Something went wrong, and your pin isn't available" error.

3. Did the 0 passwordless thing, but my password is still wrong.

And a desperate call to just use my laptop again for school (since I do use it for making outputs) and gaming.

3 issues, 3 problems, thanks to chkdsk. Since I'm currently studying a tech degree right now, I really wanna learn it's fix & prevention in the future, and to possibly add this to the bag of fixing my own laptop. How can I fix all three? I mean, the only important thing is the C: drive + the battery got removed earlier this year. With my relief that the c: drive is saved, the only thing left to do is to boot windows again!
