Thanks for all the feedback on the first post! Here's what's new. If you already have the repository installed, Kodi updates everything automatically.
New: Groove, a music-first skin. The room glows with the colors of whatever you're on. Now Playing slides the record out of its sleeve and spins it, showing the album's printed disc art if you have it, or black vinyl otherwise. You browse albums in a crate, a cover wall or a shelf of spines. Time machine lets you explore your collection by decade and year, a Wheel of genres, styles and moods plays a mix, and Liner notes shows each album's review and the artist's story. There's a Dark and a Light room.
Duotone gets three looks: Color (as before), plus Light and Dark in black and white, where only the item you're on keeps its color.
All 12 skins:
- A Sets row in the films library panel, to browse all your collections without turning on "Group movies in sets".
- Search now handles titles with &, + and |.
- A fix for controls disappearing or staying enlarged with Reduce motion on.
- A big code clean-up, so every skin passes Kodi's official checks with zero errors.
KarmaMole Skin Helper (optional): one small helper add-on that adds extras to the skins that use it, starting with Groove (album colors, colored album spines, reordering Up next, style and mood rings on the Wheel). Every skin works fully without it.
All 12 skins and the helpers are now submitted to the official Kodi repository, so they'll show up there when and if approved :)

UPDATE (24 Oct): the repository is fixed!
Thank you to everyone who reported "Could not connect" or an empty repository, and sorry for the hassle. It turned out to be two separate bugs in how Kodi 21 handles the website, not the skins themselves. Repository 1.0.6 works around both, and I've tested it on Kodi 21 and Kodi 22: new installs, upgrades, and installing skins straight away.
New here? Nothing special to do:
- Settings › System › Add-ons › turn on Unknown sources
- Settings › File manager › Add source › https://karmamole.github.io/kodi-skins/ and name it karmamole
- Add-ons › Install from zip file › karmamole › repository.karmamole.zip
- Add-ons › Install from repository › KarmaMole's Kodi Skins › Look and feel › Skin, and pick one
Already installed it, but it didn't work?
Check which version you have under Add-ons › My add-ons › Add-on repository › KarmaMole's Kodi Skins.
- 1.0.4 or 1.0.5: install repository.karmamole.zip again from your karmamole source. It should say 1.0.6.
- 1.0.3: uninstall it first from that same screen, then install the zip again.
Kodi doesn't update a repository that was installed from a zip on its own, so this one reinstall is needed. After that, skin updates arrive automatically as usual.
If Kodi 21 gets stuck on a spinning busy icon while you're adding the source or browsing it: force-stop Kodi (on a Shield: Settings › Apps › Kodi › Force stop), open it again and carry on. Nothing needs reinstalling. Leaving a few seconds between steps helps. Kodi 22 doesn't have this problem.
Still stuck? Comment with your Kodi version, your device and the repository version, and I'll help you sort it out. Thanks again for your patience, and enjoy the skins!
UPDATE (Oct 28): a big update is out for all 12 skins.
New: put add-ons on the main menu. Every skin now has Custom menu items in its settings. You get up to three slots, each holding an add-on, a favourite, a playlist or a library folder. They sit on the main menu in that skin's own style, and you can rename them. Leave them empty and your menu stays exactly as it was.
New: lots more views. Every skin now has at least six views for movies and TV and at least three for music:
- poster walls and contact sheets
- a big single-title showcase
- wide-picture grids, which suit series, sets and add-ons
- lists with plots, and episode lists with stills
- artist pages with backdrops, album walls and tracklists
Each view is designed in its skin's own style, not just reskinned. Pick one from the view options on any library screen. Your current views don't change unless you switch.
Fixes and polish:
- long plots no longer show half-cut lines, and they end cleanly
- strips no longer cut the last card off at the screen edge
- missing artwork shows a tidy name card instead of an empty frame
- assorted small layout fixes across the skins
Reminder of what's already there:
- hide any main menu item you don't use
- add up to 3 custom rows on Home from any add-on, playlist or folder
How to get it: if you installed from the KarmaMole repository, Kodi will update automatically, or you can force it with Add-ons › Check for updates. New here? The install steps are at karmamole.github.io/kodi-skins.
Thanks to everyone who's sent suggestions. Keep them coming.
